Our Story
Date: 12.26.22
I remember your rotation at the dawn of creation
the fertile mind of the divine birthed civilization
Long ago, I'd wake and supplicate before you
There were none before you.
In the beginning
spinning
Swapped alive inside the bowels of voracious ships
enveloped by the stench, I dreamt of your lips
Like water, you refresh
I dove into the deep blue and found breath.
In a land not our own we were made strangers
There was nothing stranger than loving hell.
A casualty, a shell— of myself
lost control of my faculties
Mouth closed. Blind eye turned. My soul burned with guilt.
Hate for myself is how separation was built.
We made it another day.
Got a little lost along the way
but we remembered.
What together felt like—it felt right.
Like thrones that were our own. I remembered you.
We remembered us.
And that was enough.
You've made this eternity worth living, and as I live it again
the lives that we spend together make yesterday a forever
Certainly, I will follow you through eternity
and if you don't return to me
whenever this lifetime is through
I'll return to you.
Our Story 2

She is melanin coursing through the veins of a Black sky
I evolve to grow wings and fly.
She is the sun that blackens me
and gives birth to clusters of black stars
I expand into her space and move
this constellation is ours.
Her eyes are twilight gleaming with the ancestors messages
Effortless,
she colors my senses with a million essences.
I want to whisper in her ear and get lost in her hair.
Let her untangle me with conversation and lose me in her mind.
I'll find my way back through kisses I left on her spine.
Or through the scent that baits subtly on the make of her neck.
I've thought of these things since we first met.
She is weaved with the fabric of my dreams
The Creator tore a piece of my heart and made a Queen
and for me, she is made for me.
Like a sign from a prophet
If she was my goddess I would worship devoutly
we wouldn't have to worry about a world without god,
she would worry about a world without me.
WeREvolution

We are revolution!
We embody a secret code
some seek to understand others seek to see us broken
coping through strategies of war
our maladies inform
our posture
our histories inform our gospel.
We are born among perforated lines
for budget cuts that make us bleed into prisons
we seep into the system
and our immune systems reject injustice
tough pills and swallowed pride,
what we ingest disgusts us.
Therefore we diet on riot, rebellion, and uprise
freedom is breathing
resistance is sunshine
fear is pollution
the world can breathe easy
we are revolution.
